Our Kapulli
Calli Tecpatl - House of the Obsidian Blade
A house of community and practice rooted in Curanderismo.
The name means “House of the Obsidian Blade,” honoring obsidian as both mirror and blade — a symbol of reflection and transformation.
Led by Maestra Lisa and Maestro Samuel, our first group began in 2019, when seven individuals approached Maestra Lisa and asked for deeper teachings, showing their dedication and desire to walk further along the path of Curanderismo. Over the years, the Kapulli has expanded into three cohorts who continue to learn, practice, and carry the teachings forward in service to their families and communities, while healing themselves along the way.
A large focus of our work is bringing these teachings and healing practices into community in the best way we can — with integrity, respect, and heart. We are blessed that these individuals have chosen to walk with us and learn these ways.
Calli Tecpatl is a living house — one that continues to grow through reflection, reciprocity, and right relationship with the traditions we carry.
Our values.
We ask that the ego bow down to the divinity of the spirit, so that each of us may become a hollow bone — an open vessel through which healing can flow.
Our work is an act of stitching together what has been passed down through our family lineage with the teachings and experiences shared by the many teachers we’ve been blessed to learn from. This weaving honors both ancestry and experience — carrying forward traditions that continue to live, breathe, and evolve through us.
These teachings remind us that this path is not about personal power, but about right relationship — with self, community, lineage, and the living medicines that sustain us. Through reflection, service, respect, and growth, we strive to walk in a good way
